Sharon Orlopp was recently the Chief Human Resources Officer for Core Scientific, a tech startup focused on blockchain. During her three-and-a-half years at Core Scientific, she helped grow the company from 30 to 200 employees and helped take it public.

Prior to that, Sharon served as Global Chief Diversity Officer and Senior Vice President of HR at Walmart and was responsible for advancing a diverse workforce with 2.1 million associates worldwide. She created unique experiential diversity immersion trips to teach others about different cultures.

Prior to spending 12 years at Walmart, Sharon was Vice President of Human Resources for Gart Sports. Sharon also spent 17 years with Foot Locker, where she held various leadership positions in Operations and Human Resources.

Sharon is an experienced human resource professional with a passion for diversity and for people. As an author, consultant, and speaker, she is passionate about building a world where everyone is valued and included. She believes in the transformative power of personal stories and actions to touch the heart which in turn change behaviors.

A lifelong advocate for inclusion, education and opportunity, Sharon considers it a privilege to serve as a member of The Harwood Institute Board. She has previously served on Boards and Advisory Boards for Enactus, the Women’s Foodservice Forum, the Center for Entrepreneurship at Fayetteville State University, the Center for Business Women’s’ Research, and the Northwest Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute.

Sharon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Denver, where she graduated magna cum laude.  She received her Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from the University of Arkansas.
